Abstract

Natural language processing is an active research filed that will benefit greatly from a shared understanding of its concept terms. Modeling this research domain using an ontological semantic representation that defines and links its terms will definitely benefit the research community. This paper aims to present an ontology model for NLP. This ontological model will serve as a tool in analyzing and understanding the knowledge of the domain and to help practitioners in extracting and aggregating information and then generating an explicit formal and reusable representation of the NLP concepts along with their interrelationships.
