Biography
Dr. Allan Ong earned his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Computer Science from the Technological Institute of the Philippines (Quezon City and Manila campuses). He is also a licensed professional teacher. Dr. Ong has extensive experience in teaching, research and development, and managing projects in the fields of Computer Science and Information Technology. His professional-industry background includes managing web hosting services, designing databases, developing and designing websites, and administering web systems. He has also built a rewarding teaching career across all levels of education—including elementary, secondary, tertiary, and graduate-level instruction. He is currently serving as the Program Chair of the Computer Science program at NUEO. A passionate advocate of Filipino Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing (NLP), Dr. Ong actively contributes to the research community as a peer reviewer for both local and international publications and conference proceedings.
