Biography: Muhammad Fahmi Bin Miskon, PhD is an Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer System Engineering at the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTEM), specializing in intelligent robotics. He is currently the Dean of faculty of Electrical Engineering, UTEM. In intelligent robotics, he studied how to learn and generate motion through modelling and artificial intelligence including neural network and reinforcement learning with 60 over publications. In academic reform, he facilitated in the restructuring and establishment of a few faculties and institutes as well as the development of more than 20 new programs and the improvement of more than 40 existing programs. In the recent development, he leads in the development of the innovative new bachelor of technologies programs which could accommodate the requirements and strength of Diploma Vocational Malaysia (DVM) and and Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) graduates as well as leading in the improvement of UTeM curriculums to embrace the IR4.0 technologies. He also leads the planning of UTeM Academic Strategic Plan until the year 2025 and is involved in the development of Malaysia Technical University Network Strategic Plan until the year 2025. He also plays a leading role in the establishment of Teaching Factory UTeM, which emphasize on Industry 4.0 technology, successfully acquiring RM850,000 seed money from Ministry of International Trade and Industry through Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. He was appointed by SIRIM STS Sdn. Bhd. as the chair for the industry 4.0 competency requirement for key personnel standard and a member for the committee of Industry 4.0 organizations maturity (2019-2020). He is also the committee member of the MOHE/MOE Shift 4 Quality TVET Graduates 2015-2025 and is entrusted to lead the development of TVET Curriculum Design and Delivery Guideline for the Higher Education and lead the study of the future direction of Engineering Technology Education in Malaysia. He is actively involved in TVET activities including becoming the steering committee of the EPU Study on the Demand and Supply of Human Capital Requirements on TVET 2016, the steering committee and member of Malaysia Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training (MRIVET) MRIVET. He is actively involved with the MOHR Department of Skill Development (DSD) as a contributor in IR 4.0 TVET Framework and as the developer and Assessor of NOSS. He is currently the members of the Malaysia Board of Technologist (MBOT) Act, Fees and Professional Practice Committee and the MBOT Publishing Committee. As a Professional Technologist under MBOT, he contributes in the development of the Technology Field’s definition and accreditation manual. He has been with UTEM and involved in practice and application oriented approached as academic staff and later as the head of department since 2002. He also leads the development and implementation of outcome based education in UTEM including the integrated CGPA.
