Biography: OMOGBADEGUN, Zacchaeus Oni, born 2nd June 1953, holds B.Sc (Hons) Computer Science (University of Ibadan, Nigeria, 1979), M.Sc Computer Science (University of Lagos, Nigeria, 2003), PhD (Computer Science, Covenant University, Nigeria, 2012). His Ph.D Thesis in Computer Science titled “Development of a Framework for Collaborative Virtual Complementary and Alternative Healthcare Systems” focused on Healthcare Informatics Research and Biomedical Engineering. Before joining the academics in June 2001, he has had over twenty-two years (1979-2001) post-qualification progressively cognate industrial working experience either as an employee or Information Technology Consultant in bluechip multinational organizations within and outside Nigeria including Mobil Oil Nigeria Ltd (1980-1990), Equitorial Trust Bank (1990-1994), Information Technology Consultant to: Ghana’s Social Security & National Insurance Trust Software Replacement, Accra, Ghana, (1994-1996); Information Technology Consultant [Contract], FAO of the United Nations, Regional Office for Africa, Accra, Ghana ( 06/1997 – 09/1997); Edo State Government of Nigeria’s Ministry of Education (01/1998- 12/1999); Ondo State Government of Nigeria & UNDP (09/2000); and Ekiti State Government of Nigeria’s Ministry of Health (09/2001). Represented his employers in Tanzania, United Kingdom, and Zimbabwe at Software Internationalization Project programmes (1985-1997). He became Lecturer I (Computer Science) at The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria (06/2001 – 09/2005); Lecturer II (Computer Science) in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, Covenant University, Ota, Nigeria (10/2005 - 03/2008), Lecturer I (04/2008 - 07/2014), Senior Lecturer (08/2014 - present). Research interests are Software Engineering, Healthcare / Medical Services/Informatics, Artificial Intelligence, Education Informatics, Neural Networks, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Security, Human-Computer Interactions, Multimedia Database System, and Information Technology Laws. He has since been mentored by erudite professors of Computer & Information Sciences. He has seamlessly and proficiently taught at both undergraduate and graduate levels in tertiary institutions. He has equally supervised students’ projects at both levels. He has published over twelve peer-reviewed journal articles and twenty-nine conference papers (2001 – 2013) and others in preparation / undergoing rigorous review across wide spectrum of disciplines. He is a member of the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS), Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), IEEE, IEEE Societies (EMBS - Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, Computer Society, and Computational Intelligence Society), Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), and Global Health Workforce Alliance (GHWA).
