Biography

Dr. S. Velmurugan is working as Assistant Professor of Computer Science with Data Analytics, School of Computer Science, Kongunadu Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Affiliated By Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-29, Tamil Nadu, India. He earlier served as Senior Data Storage Administrator in RighTech Solution Pvt., Ltd., Chennai. He completed his Master of Science in Information Technology in the year 2011, in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, India. He received his Ph.D in the year 2023 from the Annamalai University, and his area of research is Forensic Image Analysis. In his doctoral work, he has developed a computer vision-based approaches for detecting and locating copy-move forgeries in digital photographs. He has published research articles in Elsevier and IEEE International journals. He has to his credit 26 International journal papers. He has published 15 papers at national and international conferences. His study and research interests include Image Processing and Machine Learning. Currently, his area of research is Forensic Image Analysis, particularly in detecting and localizing photographic frauds. He has also authored three books, Member of IEEE Computer Society. He has currently served as an Editorial Board Member and Reviewer for the Computer Vision and Image Understanding and Ad Hoc Networks - Elsevier (2025), American Journal of Artificial Intelligence and other international journals.
