Biography
Dr. Zaffar Ahmed Shaikh (member IEEE) earned his Ph.D. in computer science from IBA Karachi, Pakistan. At present, He works for Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari, Karachi (BBSUL), and is a member of the REACT group of École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland (EPFL). Throughout his extensive 26-year academic and research career, Dr. Shaikh has been awarded numerous esteemed awards, scholarships, and grants from prestigious national and international organizations. His accolades include a fellowship for MS leading to a Ph.D., the International Research Support Initiative Program (IRSIP) scholarship, and multiple travel grants for presenting research papers. In 2014, he joined the REACT research group at EPFL, acknowledging his significant contributions to personal learning environments and personalized recommender systems. Dr. Shaikh boasts an impressive portfolio of over 130 research publications, all of which are indexed in prestigious databases such as Scopus, SSCI, and SCIE. Besides this, so far, he has reviewed for more than 650 top-tier journals. Dr. Shaikh’s current research focuses on a diverse array of topics, including AI, blockchain technology, business intelligence, computer vision, cybersecurity measures, decision sciences, deep, federated and machine learning techniques, educational technologies, energy economics, EVs, expert systems, fintech, green computing initiatives, healthcare systems, intelligent transportation systems, IoT, LLMs, learning environments, multi attribute decision making, metaverse, natural language processing, pharmacoinformatics, recommender systems, and sustainable development.
