Dr. Konstantinos Giannoutakis is an Assistant Professor at the department of Applied Informatics at University of Macedonia, Greece. He has served as post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) of CERTH. He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from University of Aegean, M.Sc. in Computational Science from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, department on Informatics and Telecommunications, and Ph.D. in Computational Science from Democritus University of Thrace, department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests include high performance computing, scientific computing, parallel systems, cloud computing, machine learning, cybersecurity, simulation and service oriented architectures. He has over 90 publications in journals, international conferences and books in the above research areas. He has served as a reviewer for various journals including Future Generation Computer Systems, The Journal of Supercomputing, Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory, and Journal of Cloud Computing. He is author of 3 books, while he has served as an adjunct professor in Hellenic Open University (2010-2014, 2017-today) teaching computer science and mathematics.
