George Daglish

UNIVERSITY OF SURREY

Domain of Research:

Having travelled extensively in Norway and N. Nigeria, as an applied mathematician, Daglish has worked close to the center of computer development from 1960’s. First with the Computer Laboratory at Liverpool University, then with Sperry UNIVAC and subsequently with the Defense Industry and Seismic Processors (Oil Exploration). When working with Camborne School of Mines (Cornwall, UK) on Geothermal Energy (“Hot Dry Rocks”) project he developed a new method for locating Micro-seismic events. He sees Earthquakes as “non-cooperating targets in highly non-linear spaces” and is aiming to work on “deconvolving” multiple events and on algorithms for Tsunami modeling and prediction.
