Professor Pavlo Maruschak received his MSc (2001) and Ph.D. (2005) from the Ternopil Ivan Puluj State Technical Universitu, Ukraine. He has contributed to more than 250 publications in international journals/conference proceedings and holds four UA patents. His current research interests are in the automated method for detecting and classifying of surface defects in rolled metal, which allows for conducting defectoscopy with specified parameters of efficiency and speed. A number of classification models based on deep residual neural networks were constructed, and their qualitative metrics investigated on the images of flat surfaces of rolled metal.
