Dr. Shubhalaxmi Kher obtained her BE (81), ME (89), and Ph. D (97), degrees in Electronics Engineering from Devi Ahilya University, Indore, India. She has over 33 years of academic leadership, teaching, and research experience in several institutions in India and the USA. She is serving as the Director of Electrical Engineering at Arkansas State University since 2014. Prior to joining Arkansas State University in 2008, she pursued research at Iowa State University for over 4 years. Dr. Kher has to her credit 2 book chapters and over 60 research papers in international refereed conferences and journals. She served/invited to serve as a key note speaker/plenary speaker/session chair for several IEEE international conferences including, ICETET 2019, ICEECCOT 2018, FTC 2018, MultiCon-W 2018, ICACCP 2017, ISPCC, 2012, ICETET 2008 to name a few. She serves as a US expert resource at the IUCEE and conducted a one-week faculty leadership institute at Jaypee University, in July 2012. She served as session chair/reviewer/editorial board member for several international conferences/ journals. She has been regularly presenting research work in prestigious IEEE, SICE, Springer international conferences. Dr. Kher serves as advisory committee/ technical Program committee on several international conferences including IEEE SMC. I also serve as external examiner for Ph.D. thesis for several Indian Universities. I am a Life Fellow of IETE India, Senior member of IEEE, member of WIE, Life Fellow of the Institute of Engineers, India, Life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, India. I am actively involved in IEEE activities for the last 20 years, founded and chaired IEEE MP Subsection (2002). In 2008, she served as Treasurer of IEEE Central Iowa Section. I am serving as the IEEE Student Branch counselor at Arkansas State University and University representative for ASEE since 2013. My research interests are diverse and include: Wireless sensor networks, AI and fuzzy logic, granular computing, bioinformatics, distributed algorithms, data integration and analysis.
