Byeong Kil Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in 2005. His research interests include computer architecture, application-specific embedded systems (mobile processors), deep-learning based intelligent computing, workload characterization of emerging applications, parallel computing and parallel architecture design, performance modeling, low power design and early-stage power estimation. Prior to joining the faculty at UCCS, he worked for Samsung as a VP Research for 5 years and he was an assistant professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) for 4 years. Also, he was a senior design engineer and senior research staff at TI (Texas Instruments) and ADD (Agency for Defense Development) for 5 and 10 years respectively. His research is published in several international conferences and journals, and he is also a reviewer for conferences and journals. He serves on the technical program committee and organizing committee of some conferences and workshop such as ISPASS, IISWC, ICCD, HPCA, PACT and UCAS.
