Biography: holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Engineering from Ibaraki University (2002), Master of Science in Computer Science (2013) and PhD. of Science in Computer Science (2016) from Tokyo University of Technology. Career: Afiza is Deputy Director, Centre for Research and Innovation and a Senior Lecturer at the Defence Science and Technology Faculty in National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM). Before joining UPNM, Afiza worked in the IT industry with 9 years of working experience in multiple international corporations focusing on IT solution implementations, operation support and project management involving stakeholders in Malaysia and overseas. Research & Publications: In UPNM, Afiza research and expertise are in the area of Cyber Security, Disaster Management System, Internet of Things, Big Data Analytics, Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Blockchain Technology. Among the research projects are Emotional Assessment in Information Security, Cyber Security Education using Practical Approach, Disaster Management, Smart City etc. Currently she manages UPNM research grants under her portfolio as Deputy Director, Centre for Research and Innovation Management.
