Biography: Prof. Kennedy Chinedu Okafor is a researcher and engineer with expertise in cloud engineering, cyber-physical systems, and networked robotics. He is a Visiting Professor of Mechatronics in Biomedical Engineering at the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Nigeria. He earned his PhD in Digital Electronics and Computer Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he was recognised as the best graduating doctoral student in 2017. He subsequently completed postdoctoral research at Imperial College London, focusing on data strategy and digital transformation, and holds over 32 industry certifications from Cisco, AWS, IBM, CompTIA, IEEE, and others. He also holds visiting research appointments with Manchester Metropolitan University, the University of Chichester, and the University of Johannesburg, where he contributes to projects on smart social infrastructure ecosystems. Prof. Okafor is a UK Tier-1 Exceptional Talent awardee endorsed by the Royal Academy of Engineering. His work includes contributions to the £1.8 trillion UK Natural Capital Asset valuation, authorship of over 150 scholarly publications, and leadership of high-impact projects across Europe and Africa. He currently serves as Director of the IEEE Skillup Hub for Region 8 (Africa, the Middle East, and Europe) and advises the UK government on emerging technologies and antitrust policy.
