Biography: Dr. Muhammad Khalid Khan is a seasoned professional having more than 18 years of experience in Information System implementation, training, coaching and research. After spending initial 5 years of his career in software development, he moved towards academia. He holds a PhD in Computer Science, before that he has attended two Master programs, one in Computer Science and the other in Business Administration. Dr. Khalid has published and presented close to 50 research papers in peer reviewed international journals and conferences. Currently, he is working as the Associate Professor and Director, College of Computing and Information Sciences, PAF-KIET, Karachi, Pakistan (www.pafkiet.edu.pk). He is responsible for 2300+ students and 51+ permanent faculty members. He has supervised 15+ Master’s thesis and currently co-supervising two PhD candidates. Dr. Khalid has also successfully completed several training and consultancy assignments with government (Pakistan Steel Mills, Employee Old Age Benefit Institution of Pakistan) and private sector organizations (various banks and multinational companies). Dr. Khalid’s work is focused on the given research areas: • Desktop Grids and Cloud Computing • Blockchain based Trust Mechanisms • Air Quality Monitoring using Predictive Analytics • Emerging Software Development Practices • Intrapreneurship & Technology Startups
